CORD – GENERAL OFFICER, GOLD. THE 1858/CIVIL WAR REGS CALLED FOR JUST A “GOLD” CORD. THEY WERE THEN DROPPED IN 1872 BUT RE-INSTATED IN 1899 WITHOUT WITH SAME DESCRIPTION
SO IT IS HARD TO TELL THE AGE OF THEM:

(A) SINGLE LOOP, HEAVY CORD, SLIGHT AGE TARNISHING, PRE-1913 REGS, VG-EXC{2}.

(B) SOLD

(C) GOLD/BLACK SILK WITH BLACK ACORNS & SLIDER, EXC. THIS WAS INTENDED (1858/61 REGS) FOR THE OFFICERS IN THE FIRST AND SECOND CAVALRY. THE 1899-1912 REG JUST CALLED FOR A GOLD/BLACK INTERMIXED CORD. SINCE OFFICERS BOUGHT THER OWN CORDS MANY VARIATIONS OF THIS SHOW UP. IN 1921 THEY STANDARIZED THE CORD WITH GOLD ACORNS.
